What to Expect at Your First Visit
Welcome to Spray Lake Dental! We want your first visit to be comfortable and stress-free. Before your appointment, we’ll ask you to complete a health history form that includes information about your overall health, current medications, previous dental work, and any concerns you may have.
Understanding your complete health picture helps us provide safe, personalized dental care. Many aspects of your overall health—like diabetes, heart conditions, or medications—can affect your oral health, and knowing your background allows our Cochrane dental team to tailor treatment specifically for you.
Please bring the following to your first appointment:
✓ Recent dental X-rays (if available) or the name of your previous dentist so we can request your records
✓ Current medication list – your pharmacist can provide this if needed
✓ Completed patient forms along with your dental insurance information (we offer direct billing!)
✓ Photo ID for verification purposes
✓ List of questions or concerns you’d like to discuss with Spray Lake Dentist.
Your First Appointment: Step by Step
Step 1: Warm Welcome
Our friendly front desk team will greet you, review your paperwork, and answer any immediate questions about insurance or payment options. We’ll give you a brief tour so you feel right at home.
Step 2: Comprehensive Examination
Your dentist will perform a thorough oral health assessment, including:
-
Digital X-rays (safer and more comfortable than traditional X-rays)
-
Oral cancer screening
-
Gum health evaluation
-
Examination of existing dental work
-
Discussion of any concerns or symptoms you’re experiencing
Step 3: Personalized Treatment Discussion

Your current oral health status
-
Recommended treatments (if needed)

Multiple treatment options to fit your lifestyle and budget
-
Timeline and next steps
For straightforward cases, we may be able to begin treatment during your first visit. For more complex dental needs, we’ll schedule a follow-up appointment and provide a detailed treatment plan.

If your schedule allows and no urgent treatment is needed, we may complete a professional cleaning during your first visit.
Important: Patients under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for their first appointment.

Most major dental insurance plans
-
Direct billing (we submit claims on your behalf!)
-
MasterCard, Visa, Debit, and Cash

-
Verify your insurance coverage before your appointment
-
Submit pre-treatment estimates so you know costs upfront
-
Provide detailed treatment plans with clear pricing
-
Explain what your insurance covers and any out-of-pocket costs
